Did you know that 80% of the stimulation that our brain receives comes from the ear? Sound is our biggest information gathering source, but are we prioritising engaging with sounds as we should be in early childhood?
Webinar host, Tasha, will talk about the importance of considering the sound environment when planning the optimal early learning classroom environment for promoting cognitive development. Planning a small defined learning area for exploring sounds, playing with sounds and sound games facilitated by an educator who understands the value of sound, as well as having a big space for trained educators to lead larger group daily music circle time activities.
Montessori classroom sound games such as bells and shakers, are impactful activities that help to refine sound processing. Along with the silence game, musical instruments soundscape and loud/soft game, we can help children to engage with sounds, to develop auditory discrimination and to give them the language comprehension to talk about sounds,
Shehla Ghori is a Montessori Teacher, founder of Edulinxs Club. In this webinar Shehla will share the five sound games and how to introduce them in a small defined sound learning area of your classroom.
Tasha will cover two Boogie Mites songs that link with sound games and with the festive season that is fast approaching.
You will have access to a recording of the session for one week after the live date.
