Happy New Year from Boogie Mites!

Thank you from Boogie Mites

Happy New Year! It’s that time again. Here’s to another great year with all of you Parents, Practitioners, Childminders and Early Years Experts. We’ve had an inspirational time at conferences, a laugh at early years events and great fulfillment in our support for amazing organisations and causes. But what exactly have we been up to? This article explains the video of our year in pictures…

January & February…

At the beginning of this year, we were finishing our instructor videos and making plans for events and case studies with early years organisations for the year…

March…

In March, we took part in the 100 Million Minute Reading Challenge, organised by Achievement For All, with attendance from Flick Drummond, Portsmouth MP.

We also attended the Munch ‘n’ Move conference in London.

April…

In April we visited the Cooperative Childcare Nursery in Brighton to undergo a case study post implementation of Boogie Mites programmes. You can watch a video of the songs in action as well as conversations with a practitioner and the quality excellence manager of these nurseries on our YouTube channel.

May…

The photos in our NY video for May were taken at a SEN session in Portsmouth with Pauline. These sessions still take place and Pauline’s territory for Boogie Mites stretches as far as Havant and Hayling Island. If you’d like to know more about Pauline and the other Licensees who host Boogie Mites sessions all over the UK, visit the In Your Area page on our website.

June…

In June we focussed on Boogie Mites at Home. This has been developed especially for parents and allows you to bring the music magic home. It offers a fun, engaging way to ready for school, keep daily activities fresh and gives alternative techniques for learning every day.

July…

The photos taken in July include Intergenerational music making with AGE UK in Portsmouth. If you’d like to know more about our Intergenerational music opportunities, please get in touch directly with your enquiry. You’ll also see a photo from our meeting with NutSpace, an Indian organisation using Boogie Mites, when they visited from India. You can find out more about NutSpace on our YouTube channel.

August…

In these photos, you’ll see another intergenerational session at the Bradbury Centre in Portsmouth. We had a great turn out with a lovely crowd and attendance from Stephen Morgan, another Portsmouth MP! Again, if you would like to enquire about intergenerational music, please get in touch.

September…

In September we received an email from Natalie of The CharChar Trust in Malawi. She’d come across Boogie Mites YouTube channel and she wanted one of our team to come over and train some of their volunteer teachers. This kickstarted our crowdfunding project, which we hope will fund our visit early next year. If you’d like to read about this project, you can find more information on our blog.

October…

In October all of the Boogie Mites team met to discuss successes of their year and exchange tips and advice in order to improve! We lead songs together with everyone getting involved.

November…

Some lovely photos from Clares music and movement sessions in Portchester. If you’d like to know more about these classes, visit the In Your Area page on our website.

December…

December saw the launch of our Crowdfunding page – to get Harriet Thomas, our creative director, and one other trainer to Malawi! Please take a look at this project, we’re very excited to contribute to their curriculum and help bring educational music to Malawi.

We also lead many forms of training all over the UK for EY practitioners and with the release of Musical Development Matters, we hope to continue spreading the power of music for early years development.

Thank you to all of the passionate practitioners from Tops Nurseries, Bright Horizons, Eduko, LEYF and many more who attended training with us. Our training comes in many forms an is adaptable so that it fits around you and your team.

If you have any enquiries about what Boogie Mites can do for you, please send us an email. In the meantime, enjoy the last few hours of 2018!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
