If you have been searching for early years jobs and business opportunities, then this could be exactly what you are looking for. Fun, rewarding and easily fitted around your other commitments, running your own Boogie Mites business could be the perfect fit. You don’t need prior music experience, just a passion for early years development and some history working in early years.
You may be…
- a primary or early years teacher
- music leader
- self-employed Early Years consultant/ trainer
- speech and language specialist
- adult learning tutor
- or a provider of other early years support.
Nicole Heard began her Boogie Mites journey last summer. Since then, she has called her experience “the best time ever” It’s a role she “really relish[es] and really enjoy[s]”.
It all started when she was looking for work after 20 years of teaching. She fancied a change, and after having been in lots of different educational positions, she wanted to be in charge of her own hours, business and “destiny”.
Nicole went along to a Boogie Babies session with Pauline and never looked back. As a mother herself, she understands how important it is for resources to be accessible and as a creative, she loves making her own resources and instruments.
Since then, Nicole has set up partnerships with organisations and charities across Portsmouth, most recently finding success with her Intergenerational work. At AGE UK, Nicole runs music-making sessions for children and their parents to enjoy with older generations. Ronald, who I spoke to at a recent BM Intergenerational session said on BM:
“[I] Enjoy the antics and the energy, [I] never had children of my own. They’re catchy songs – I can get into it!
…The kids always come in quiet at the beginning of the session, then by the end, they’re all loud and joining in like the rest of us!”
