Children’s Christmas Songs for your Festive Celebrations

Children’s Christmas Songs for your festive party

What are your favourite children’s Christmas songs? I think we all have one or two that stick out in our minds, but to sing the same selection every year can get tedious…

While we love the old traditions that accompany Christmas at Boogie Mites, we also appreciate the need to make new ones. Adaptations of the Nativity and new versions of old favourites keep the magical feeling of Christmas alive (like The Snowman’s return in 2012: The Snowman and The Snowdog).

And while it’s easy to reach for that old collection of Christmas classics, incorporating the aspects and learning areas of the EYFS into an old rendition of Santa Claus is Coming to Town doesn’t have to be your only option.

Our collection of Children’s Christmas songs (for ages 2-5) come complete with written lyrics and teacher notes, so that your EYFS planning is done for you – so put on a nativity performance for parents, dance around after lunch, or have a festive circle time.

Our adaptations showcase old favourites with a Boogie Mites twist, and our original tunes are sure to have you singing and dancing along in no time! For those religious settings, there is an optional song relating to the nativity story.

We have even included a suggested performance order to get you started, with optional ideas for costumes and scripts suitable for older groups.

You can also listen to a compilation of every song in the workshop on our Soundcloud:

It’s good for getting [the children] active and moving about. Parents quite often see the sessions and enjoy watching it. Sometimes they even join in! [We] like all the songs because [of their] catchiness, [we are able to] join in easily with them and [they tie] in with the EYFS.
